Frank G. "Chico" Paredez, 75, of Greeley, died Monday, May 8, 2017 at Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital, Johnstown. He was born on June 29, 1941 in Big Spring, Texas to Martin V. and Angelina (Gonzalez) Paredez.

Frank grew up in the Big Spring area, where he attended school. He married the love of his life, Lorenza Hernandez, on August 7, 1959 in Big Spring. They came to the Denver area in 1963. He worked at Denver University in custodial maintenance and also the Greeley Housing Authority in custodial maintenance.

Frank enjoyed playing the piano and listening to all kinds of music. He taught himself how to play the piano. Frank was an avid reader and was always learning new information on a number of subjects including, politics, health, nutrition and herbs. He was an advocate for social justice; marching in Denver for Crusade for Justice in the 1970s. He met Cesar Chavez.

Frank loved to travel to California, North and South Dakotas and Mexico. He loved to give his family and friends nicknames, which they all enjoyed and to talk with people. Above all was his love for his wife and daughters.

Frank is survived by his wife, Lorenza "Lenchi" of Greeley; four daughters, Irene "Nene" Paredez, Patricia "Patas" Paredez, Yolanda "Jollie" Paredez and husband Jessie Ramos and Norma "Wuera" Paredez all of Greeley; two sisters, Rosario Diaz and Elisa Carrillo both of Big Spring, Texas; brother, Raul Paredez of Arvada; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his 13 year old daughter, Victoria Paredez.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home. Liturgical service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
